What is the Rural Healthcare Resiliency Program?

The Rural Healthcare Resiliency Program is a Tennessee-based initiative to improve healthcare access and outcomes to rural and underserved communities. Funded through the Tennessee Department of Health, the goal of the program is to have trained Community Care Navigators:

  • strengthen mental health and substance use prevention across rural counties
  • provide trauma-informed support
  • provide resource referrals
  • host community wellness events to connect families to the care they need
  • reduce stigma through education and outreach
  • bridge critical gaps in care

Led by The Center for Family Development, the Rural Healthcare Resiliency Program, in collaboration with community partners, intends to bring lasting impact, hope and healing to rural communities across the region.
